Honor to 9-year-old Indian American
Samedha Saxena, a 9-year-old Bharatvanshi living in America, has joined the list of the world's most talented students. He has been given this honor by the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY). Samedha is a Class 4 student at Battery Park City School in New York City.
Passed college
tests as well Samedha gave good performance in many high school and college level tests. These include many exams including SAT, ACT, School and College Ability Test. Samedha is one of the youngest students to qualify the CYT Global Talent Search Program at the age of 8.
The director of the program congratulated
Samedha, Dr. Amy Shelton, Executive Director of CYT, said - Succeeding in this test is not the identity of these students. These kids love exploring and learning. I salute these children who have so much knowledge at such a young age.
Amy added – It is exciting to think about what discoveries these kids will use their knowledge and passion to make. Their coming experiences will be very enriching. They will go on to accomplish remarkable things in their community and in the world.
Children from 76 countries were tested
CYT had taken test of 15 thousand 300 children from 76 countries in its program in 2021-22 session. Only 27% of these children got high enough scores to make it to the list of the most brilliant students. Apart from Samedha, 13-year-old Indian-origin Natasha Periyanayagam, who lives in America, has also joined the list. The name of 9-year-old Aryaveer Kochhar, who lives in New Delhi, India, is also in this list.
